Privacy Policy

1. Information We Do Not Collect

RemindMe is designed with a privacy-first approach. We do not collect, store, or transmit:

• Medicine names or dosage details
• Health conditions or diagnoses
• Exact dose timestamps
• Personal health records
• Personally identifiable information (PII)
• Contact lists or phone numbers (caregiver numbers are stored locally only)

2. Data Stored on Your Device

All your medication data, schedules, family member profiles, doctor visits, medical tests, and adherence history are stored locally on your device in an encrypted database.

We use SQLCipher with AES-256 encryption. The encryption key is generated and stored in the Android Keystore, a hardware-backed secure storage system. This means even if someone gains physical access to your device's storage, they cannot read your health data without your device credentials.

3. Google Account & Authentication

Google Sign-In is optional and only required if you wish to use Google Drive backup. When you sign in, we receive:

• Your display name and email address (used solely for identifying your account within the app)
• Authorization to access your Google Drive for backup storage

We do not share your Google account information with any third party.

4. Google Drive Backup

If you enable Google Drive backup, your encrypted data is stored in your own Google Drive in the app's private folder. RemindMe does not have access to any other files in your Drive. You can delete your backup at any time from Google Drive.

5. Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used in aggregate. This helps us improve features and fix bugs. All analytics data is:

• Anonymous — no names, emails, or device identifiers linked to health data
• Categorical — we use bucketed ranges (e.g., "1-3 medicines" not "Aspirin 100mg")
• Aggregated — we see trends across all users, not individual behavior

We log events such as feature usage counts, schedule type preferences, and language selection. We never log medicine names, dose times, or any personal health information.

6. Medicine Photos

Photos you take of medicines are stored locally on your device in the app's private directory. They are included in backups (Google Drive or file export) as Base64-encoded data within the backup file. Photos are never uploaded to our servers or shared with third parties.

7. Notifications & Alarms

All notification scheduling happens locally on your device using Android's AlarmManager and WorkManager. No notification data passes through our servers.

8. WiFi Direct Transfer

When you transfer data between devices using WiFi Direct, the transfer happens directly between the two devices over a local connection. No data passes through the internet or any external server.

9. Third-Party Services

RemindMe uses the following third-party services:

• Firebase Authentication — for optional Google Sign-In (Firebase Privacy Policy)
• Firebase Analytics — for anonymous usage analytics (Firebase Privacy Policy)
• Google Drive API — for optional cloud backup (Google Privacy Policy)

10. Children's Privacy

RemindMe does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app can be used to manage medication schedules for children as family members, but this data is stored locally on the parent's or guardian's device.

11. Data Deletion

You are in full control of your data:

• Delete a family member — removes all their medicines, schedules, and history from the app
• Uninstall the app — deletes all local data permanently
• Delete Drive backup — remove the RemindMe folder from your Google Drive at any time
• Sign out — disconnects your Google account from the app

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
